It’s the first thing I thought when I knew Pastor Donnie McClurkin had invited me to be on one of TBN’s Christmas specials. Myrl is my maternal grandmother, already gone to Heaven, and like most grandmothers I know, she had her favorite “programs” or tv shows.

One of her favorite things to watch was Praise The Lord on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). And in her last days in the hospital, it was all she wanted to watch. I think she would have been proud to see me there.

I had a BLAST during the taping! Pastor McClurkin is so wise when it comes to the Word of God! He really challenged me to consider Christmas a little differently than what tradition would dictate. He had myself, Micah Stampley, Trent Cory and Beckah Shae searching the Word before the taping began to find out what the Bible says about Christmas trees! I was so grateful to be in such good company.

The taping itself was a true blessing! We were able to really focus in on the true meaning of Christmas-the sacrificial love of a God that would send His Son to earth to make Himself like us in order to save us from death and give us eternal life.
